The Croisette heated up considerably on opening Friday of the Festival, as new venue TORCH at Vegaluna beach played host to the Official Launch Party for new Danny Trejo movie THE DARKNESS DESCENDING. The party, held to introduce the film to international buyers and distributors was a hot ticket, and packed out, as guests were treated to exclusive clips from the upcoming movie, played throughout the venues 40ft screens, before a mind-blowing performance by various fire-dancers and artists who's routines set light to the crowd ready to dance the night away to top US DJ Diplo.
THE DARKNESS DESCENDING follows a documentary-maker, exploring the urban legend of Angel, played by DANNY TREJO ("Machete"), a notorious figure said to rule and terrorize the underground homeless community, deep within the subway tunnels of NYC. His ominous crew, The Chosen, played by actors including WWE Superstars JOHN MORRISON and MELINA PEREZ, DARREN DARNBOROUGH and SARA MARAFFINO create havoc, whilst stars FRANK KRUEGER and KINGA PHILLIPS document, in between visits from the NYPD (Emmy-winner KRISTOFF ST. JOHN and LOUIS MANDYLOR)
