A new shade to Dakota Johnson‘s career: Tiberius Film acquires CHLOE & THEO and other international movie highlights
Munich, 12th May 2015. The leading German independent film distributor Tiberius Film unveils its new acquisitions at the launch of the Marché du Film 2015 in Cannes. Wolfgang Carl, CEO of Tiberius Film GmbH: “Cannes has always been a very important festival to us and we are happy to be able to present a broad range of new titles. We are especially excited about Chloe & Theo, the new film with Hollywood-Star Dakota Johnson. With the new genre productions The Stranger and Clown we continue our successful collaboration with the master of horror Eli Roth. And the highly successful TV series Inspector Dupin strengthens the diversity of our program.”
CHLOE & THEO is the moving story about the friendship between the young New Yorker Chloe, played by “50 Shades of Grey”-Star Dakota Johnson, and the Inuit environmental activist Theo (Theo Ikummaq) who wants to alert the world to the perils of global warming. Chloe decides to join him in his mission and by doing that finds renewed courage to change her life. Oscar-nominated actress Mira Sorvino is also part of the cast and the film was directed by Ezna Sand.
Further highlights are the horror movies THE STRANGER by Guillermo Amoedo (screenplay “The Green Inferno”), in which a Canadian village is doomed by the arrival of a stranger and the movie CLOWN by Jon Watts (“Cop Car”), in which a clown costume turns a well-meaning father into a coldblooded killer. Both films were produced by Eli Roth.
Furthermore, Tiberius Film has secured the home entertainment rights to the successful Degeto TV-series KOMMISSAR DUPIN. The series achieved excellent ratings on TV and millions have read the books on which the films are based. In BRETONISCHE VERHÄLTNISSE, BRETONISCHE BRANDUNG and BRETONISCHES GOLD Pasquale Aleardi portays the obstinate inspector Dupin, who has been transferred from Paris to the coast of Brittany.
The releases of the films are planned for spring 2016.
