Today at the NEXT Pavilion there was an event called Achieving Impact Through Theatrical Screenings. The speaker was Richard Matson, who is Head of Distribution at Gathr Films.
Gathr Films is one of the many organizations to be featured at the NEXT Pavilion and they all have one thing in common, they are a part of the future of film. The NEXT Pavilion was created just last year in order to highlight organizations that approach film in new and innovative ways.
At today’s workshop, Matson spoke about Gathr Films and their “Theatrical On Demand.” This is the main service provided by Gathr, which is audience driven movie screenings. A person requests a screening of one of the films Gathr has, and then if enough people in their area sign up to see it, the film comes to their town or city.
