Netflix adds RIPHAGEN to Dutch Features package

The Dutch World War II thriller RIPHAGEN, starring Jeroen van Koningsbrugge, has been added to the Netflix deal that sales agent Dutch Features Global Entertainment announced last week. Dutch Features has sold all worldwide rights for the film, with the exception of the Benelux, to the streaming platform. 

“'The scope of the acquired rights is unique. Never before has Netflix acquired all worldwide rights (excl. Benelux) to a Dutch film”, says Pim van Collem, CEO of Dutch Features Global Entertainment. “The fact that Netflix took the decision to purchase the film even before it was finished is a great milestone for our company and for Dutch films.” 

RIPHAGEN is a World War II crime thriller based on the life of Andries ‘Al Capone’ Riphagen (Jeroen van Koningsbrugge). Riphagen was not only a boxer, black-market dealer and a pimp, but above all a fervent Jew hunter. He filled his pockets through the detection, extortion and betrayal of Jews in hiding during World War II, becoming immeasurably rich. Riphagen thought himself untouchable, until the young policeman Jan van Liempd fearlessly embarked on a mission to hunt him down. 

RIPHAGEN is a film by director Pieter Kuijpers, based on the screenplay by Paul Jan Nelissen and Thomas van der Ree. It is produced by Pupkin in co-production with VPRO. 

Besides RIPHAGEN, the contract signed by Dutch Features with Netflix also includes the Dutch box office hits BON BINI HOLLAND and A NOBLE INTENTION, the award-winning Croatian drama YOU CARRY ME and the Israeli thriller SUICIDE, which can soon be viewed via the streaming platform.
