Serge Hayat added: “Profitable investment in the movie business is not an easy deal. With only a-36- hours program the investors got the chance of meeting up more than 20 A class experts of the industry and were guided to understand how this latter works and what are the traps to avoid. It’s also important to note that the investors who had joined the Club were looking for not only ROI but also projects that promote social responsibility”.
Karen Adler says: “Our aim is to transform initiatives into concrete actions by encouraging financing opportunities. Ideally the Investors Club will become a year-round think-tank for the creation of innovative & high-profile financing structures to invest in our industry.”
The seminar was initiated and organized by the Marché du Film. The academic content has been designed by Serge Hayat (Cinemage Soficas) and Karen Adler (Les Films de Ka) with the assistance of Paul Miller (Escape Pictures). Through a 36-hours-long intense agenda of selected series of keynote presentations, case study analysis, round table discussions as well as social networking events the Cannes Investors Club presented the essentials of latest film-financing, distribution, risk mitigation strategies and the fundamentals of profitable film funding for the investors.
