Kosovo Cinematography Center at Cannes International Film Festival 2017

Kosovo Cinematography Center together with Albanian National Center of Cinematography will be present at International Village Pantiero no. 212 from 17 – 26 May 2017.

In the last five years, Kosovo’s film industry has had a transcendental development. During these years Kosovo Cinematography Center has supported approximately 100 films in different categories and has had numerous collaborations with many other countries.

Our film industry has had enormous achievements with the full support of Kosovo Cinematography Center. Supporting the films who have represented Kosovo in the best way, films like: Three Windows and A Hanging by Isa Qosja, Babai by Visar Morina, Sworn Virgin by Laura Bispuri, Bota by Iris Elezi & Thomas Logoreci alongside with short films such as Shok by Jamie Donoughue, Ballkoni by Lendita Zeqiraj and Kolona by Ujkan Hysaj.

The Evaluation Jury for the annual bid of 2017 has been selected

The Managing Board of the Kosovo Cinematography Center has appointed two evaluation juries for the projects that have applied for financial support in this year’s competition of Kosovo Cinematography Center annual bid.

The jury, which will evaluate feature films, debutant and minor co-production, is composed of: a renowned Kosovar filmmaker who has had a huge success with the film Three Windows and A Hanging - Isa Qosja, film critic and the director of the Cottbus Festival - Bernd Buder, film producer mainly known for the film Once upon a time in Anatolia - Zeynep Atakan, writer Ramadan Musliu, producer Dritan Huqi, director of photography Sevdije Kastrati and director Artur Tahiraj.

The jury, which will evaluate short films, long and short documentary films, short animated film, and screenplay development consists of: DokuFest’s artistic director - Veton Nurkollari, actress Rebeka Qena, director Florent Mehmeti, actor and producer Eshref Durmishi, writer Adil Olluri, playwright Jahi Jahiu and director Ilir Kabashi.

There are around 50 film projects this year to be evaluated by the jury.
