The Norwegian Film Institute is a public institution under the authority of the Ministry of Culture. The NFI supports and promotse films, series and games. Norway is experiencing a new dawn for documentary production and the quality of Norwegian docs has risen far beyond the local market. At Doc Corner we present four documentary works in progress by both new and established directors.

MUNCH IN HELL is a documentary that seeks to explain how and why the painter Edvard Munch was subject to systematically poor and ignorant treatment in his homeland. Today considered one of the world’s greatest painters, but not treated as he deserves.

Siblings Torarin and Svalin in Arctic Norway wanted a horse to ride but got two Mongolian camels instead. When dad seriously injures his hand, the kids have to contribute more, but the camels are stubborn. They decide to go to Mongolia to find a skilled camel trainer who is willing to return with them to their Arctic island.

ROGUFANT is a film about the intelligence, emotions, and sensibility of animals which we have been living close to for thousands of years and mainly considered as our food. The film will show how animals have a thinking without language, the capacity to anticipate, the power of insight and decision. And therefore their own destiny. By following the ordinary lives of the three most common farm animals; pigs, cows and chickens we will discover they are not just something, but is in fact, someone!
